First of all, no matter which country you choose to marry from, the Japanese partner must meet the following requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements for Japanese nationals<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
  1. have the intention to marry<\/li>
  2. The age of marriage must be at least 18 years for men and 16 years for women.<\/li>
  3. (If you already have a spouse, you cannot get married again.)<\/li>
  4. The marriage must not be a consanguineous marriage or a marriage with the same surname as that of the spouse (direct blood relatives or relatives within the third degree of consanguinity cannot marry each other).<\/li>
  5. In the case of minors, the consent of their parents is required.<\/li>
  6. If the woman remarries, six months must have elapsed since the divorce (however, if she was pregnant before the divorce, she can remarry from the date of birth).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Secondly, the foreign partner must meet the following conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the case of an international marriage with a Chinese national<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    \n

    The Chinese partner must<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. willingness to marry<\/li>
    2. The age of marriage must be at least 22 years old for men and 20 years old for women.<\/li>
    3. (If you already have a spouse, you cannot get married again.)<\/li>
    4. (If a person already has a spouse, he or she cannot marry again.) 4. The marriage must not be a consanguineous marriage or a marriage with the same surname.<\/li>
    5. Prohibition due to illness<\/li>
    6. (Marriage is prohibited for those who suffer from a disease that medically indicates that they should not marry.<\/li>

      5. The applicant must not be a close relative of the applicant (marriage is not permitted to a relative of the applicant’s immediate family or a relative within the second degree of consanguinity or affinity).<\/li>
      6. If the applicant is under 18 years of age, he\/she must have the permission of his\/her parents or guardian, or the permission of the court in lieu of the parents’ or guardian’s permission.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

        In the case of an international marriage with a Vietnamese national<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
        \n

        The following conditions are required<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. willingness to marry<\/li>
        2. The age of marriage must be over 20 years old for male and over 18 years old for female.<\/li>
        3. The marriage must not be a same-sex marriage, bigamy, or a marriage between adopted parents and adopted children.<\/li>
        4. The marriage must not be a consanguineous marriage or a marriage with the same surname.<\/li>
        5. have the capacity to sue in a civil court (not a person with limited capacity)<\/li>
        6. not be infected with mental illness or HIV.<\/li>
        7. The woman must not be under a 6-month ban on remarriage.
          *The woman must not be under a 6 month ban on remarriage. 8. When remarrying in Vietnam, the previous divorce must be judicial rather than consensual.<\/li>
        8. The marriage must not be a sham marriage for the purpose of leaving Vietnam or obtaining foreign citizenship.<\/li>
        9. The marriage must not take place after entering Japan on a short stay visa (a “certificate of legal capacity to contract marriage” will not be issued).
          *In order to obtain a marriage certificate from the Vietnamese embassy or consulate in Japan, you must obtain a “Certificate of Eligibility for Marriage”.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

          In the case of an international marriage with a Filipino national<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
          \n

          In order to obtain a marriage certificate, the applicant must<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. Intention to marry<\/li>
          2. The age of marriage must be at least 18 years for men and 18 years for women.<\/li>
          3. Not be in a bigamous marriage (if you already have a spouse, you cannot get married again).<\/li>
          4. (If a person already has a spouse, he or she cannot marry again.) 4. The marriage must not be a consanguineous or same-sex marriage.<\/li>
          5. If the applicant is under 20 years of age, she must have the consent of her parents. If the applicant is between 21 and 25 years of age, she must have the advice of her parents.<\/li>
          6. If the applicant is a woman who has been divorced, the marriage must have been annulled or the annulment confirmed by a final and binding decree registered at the Registry of Personal Status.<\/li>

            3. (If you already have a spouse, you cannot get married again.)<\/li>
            4. The marriage must not be a consanguineous or same-sex marriage.<\/li>
            5. In the case of minors, the consent of their parents is required.<\/li>
            6. If a woman remarries, 310 days must have elapsed since the divorce.<\/li>
            7. She must not be suffering from any specific disease.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

              In case of international marriage with Singaporean<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
              \n

              The Singaporean must<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              If you are a Muslim<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
              1. Intention to marry<\/li>
              2. The age of marriage must be 18 years or above (exceptions may be made for women under 18 years).<\/li>
              3. A Singaporean man may marry up to four wives in his own country, but a special procedure is required for the second and subsequent marriages.<\/li>
              4. The marriage must not be of the same sex or incestuous.<\/li>
              5. The Muslim woman must not be under a ban on remarriage.<\/li>
              6. The Muslim ban on remarriage is 3 months after divorce and 4 months and 10 days after the death of the previous husband.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                If you are not a Muslim<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
                1. you must be willing to marry<\/li>
                2. The age of marriage must be 21 years or older.
                  *In the case of a child between 18 and 21 years of age, the consent of both parents is required in the case of a legitimate child, and the consent of the mother is required in the case of a illegitimate child.

                      5. not in a same-sex marriage or incestuous marriage, and not in a bigamous marriage if the couple is not Muslim.<\/li>
                      6. The woman must not be in the period of remarriage ban.
                        *The ban on remarriage in Indonesia is 3 months after divorce and 130 days after the death of the previous husband.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
                        In case of international marriage with Nepalese<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
                        \n

                        If you want to marry a Nepalese person, you need to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                        1. willingness to marry<\/li>
                        2. Women above 16 years of age may marry with the consent of their guardian, and women above 18 years of age may marry without the consent of their guardian.<\/li>

                          5. The parties are not related by consanguinity or affinity (i.e. neither party is a prohibited parent).<\/li>
                          6. The period of ban on remarriage of 6 months has elapsed.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

                            If you are getting married to a Sri Lankan<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
                            \n

                            The Sri Lankan party must<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                            1. Intention to marry<\/li>
                            2. The age of marriage must be at least 16 years for males and 12 years for females (14 years for Europeans and citizens of autonomous European cities).<\/li>

                            4. not be related by consanguinity or affinity (marriage is not permitted between members of the same family and members of the same family, or between members of the same family and members of different families, regardless of whether they have the same or different parents).                               5. The couple must have started living together.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

                                In the case of an international marriage with a Taiwanese national<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
                                \n

                                The Taiwanese person must<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                1. Intention to marry<\/li>
                                2. The age of marriage must be at least 18 years old for men and 16 years old for women.<\/li>
                                3. (If you already have a spouse, you cannot get married again.)<\/li>
                                4. (If you already have a spouse, you cannot get married again.) 4. You must not marry a close relative or have the same surname as your spouse.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

                                    6. (Marriage is prohibited for those who are suffering from a disease that is medically considered unsuitable for marriage.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

                                      In case of international marriage with a Brazilian national<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
                                      \n

                                      In the case of an international marriage with a Brazilian national, the following conditions are required<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                      1. willingness to marry<\/li>
                                      2. The age of marriage must be at least 16 years for both the man and the woman. (Exceptions may be made in the case of pregnancy, even if the couple is not of age for marriage.<\/li>
                                      3. In the case of minors (under 21 years of age), the permission of their parents or legal representatives is required.<\/li>
                                      4. no bigamy<\/li>
                                      5. (Marriage is not permitted between members of the direct bloodline, direct in-laws, brothers and sisters, or between relatives within the third degree of consanguinity).<\/li>
                                      6. A woman may not enter into a new marriage until ten months have elapsed since she became a widow or since her previous marriage was dissolved due to nullity or annulment.<\/li>

                                        International Marriage with Moldovans<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
                                        \n

                                        Moldovans must<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                        1. willingness to marry<\/li>
                                        2. Minimum age of marriage is 18 years for men and 16 years for women. (The age of marriage for males may be reduced to 16 years with justifiable reasons and the consent of both parents)<\/li>
                                        3. The marriage must be free from consanguinity. (The age of marriage for men is reduced to 16 years if there is a valid reason and the parents agree.
                                          • Between immediate relatives up to the fourth degree of consanguinity, between siblings, and between half parents and half siblings.<\/li>
                                          • Between an adoptive parent and his\/her adopted child<\/li>
                                          • Between an adoptive parent and his or her adopted child.<\/li>
                                          • Between a guardian and a minor (during the period of guardianship)<\/li>
                                          • Between a person of the same sex.<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
                                          • (If one of the parties is married, the marriage cannot take place.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

                                            International Marriage with an American<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
                                            \n

                                            The following are the requirements for American nationals<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                            1. The age of marriage must be at least 21 years for men and 18 years for women. (However, according to state law, with the consent of both parents, a man may marry at the age of 18 or older and a woman at the age of 16 or older.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

                                              International Marriage with a Turkish National<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
                                              \n

                                              The following are the requirements for Turkish nationals<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                              1. willingness to marry<\/li>
                                              2. A man must be 17 years of age and a woman must be 15 years of age before she can marry. (However, in special circumstances, the judge may grant permission to marry to a man who has reached the age of 15 or a woman who has reached the age of 14, after hearing from the parents or guardian in advance.<\/li>
                                              3. Persons suffering from mental illness are not permitted to marry.<\/li>
                                              4. In the case of minors, the consent of their parents or guardians is required (if only one of the parents has parental authority, the consent of the other parent is sufficient).<\/li>
                                              5. The guardian’s consent is necessary for the prohibited person to marry (if the guardian refuses to give consent, the guardian may file a lawsuit to seek the guardian’s consent).<\/li>
                                              6. The marriage must not be a marriage between close relatives. The following persons cannot marry
                                                • A person may not marry a person who is a member of his or her immediate family, a brother or sister (including half-parents), an uncle or niece, an aunt or nephew, a nanny or a person who was brought up by a nanny, or an infant brother or sister.<\/li>
                                                • Lineal descendants (including those whose marriages have been dissolved)<\/li>
                                                • Adoptive parents or their spouses and adopted children or their spouses<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
                                                • A person who intends to remarry must prove that the previous marriage has been dissolved by death of the spouse, divorce, etc., or that a decree declaring the previous marriage null and void has been made.<\/li>
                                                • If the applicant remarries, 300 days must have elapsed since the divorce.
                                                  (However, if the woman has given birth or is not likely to have conceived a child by her former husband, the judge may shorten the 300-day period.
                                                  (If a man remarries his ex-wife and a woman remarries her ex-husband, the judge may shorten the period of 300 days)<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

                                                  In case of international marriage with Iranian nationals<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
                                                  \n

                                                  The Iranian party must<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                                  1. Intention to marry<\/li>
                                                  2. The age of marriage must be at least 18 years for men and 15 years for women. (However, if there is a valid reason for the marriage, the court may, on the application of the public prosecutor, waive the age limit within the range of 15 years for men and 13 years for women.<\/li>
                                                  3. If a woman has reached the age of 15 but not 18, her guardian must give permission. (Women who have never been married before must have permission from their father or paternal grandfather, even if they have reached the age of 18.<\/li>
                                                  4. (Women who have never married before must have permission from their father or paternal grandfather, even if they have reached the age of 18.<\/li>
                                                  5. No adoptive parent-child (milk relative) relationship.<\/li>
                                                  6. In the case of a Muslim woman, her partner must be a Muslim.<\/li>
                                                  7. If the woman is Iranian and marries a foreigner, she must have special permission from the government.<\/li>
                                                  8. If she remarries, she must have been divorced for three consecutive menstrual periods (if she is pregnant, she must not remarry until she gives birth).<\/li>
